MilitaryMilitary family members can now receive mental health help closer to home. Belmont Pines Hospital is the only TRICARE-certified residential treatment center in the state of Ohio and surrounding states Serving the children and adolescent members of active duty, Guard and Reserve units, our programs are designed to address the specific behavior challenges facing children of military families. To enhance positive outcomes, family participation is strongly encouraged. Through a variety of therapeutic modalities, children will develop the social skills and emotional stability necessary to be reintegrated into their family and community. For Residential Treatment, the curriculum consists of a Master Treatment Plan that is tailored to focus on the identified behavioral challenges of each individual resident. Residents are active in a variety of therapy sessions, including individual, group and family therapy sessions, conducted by licensed clinical professionals. Topics covered include conflict resolution, relationship skills, anger management and understanding feelings. Children are enrolled into the education program, which is administered by licensed certified special education teachers. Educational services are provided six (6) hours a day, five days a week. The residential treatment program is under the clinical supervision of Phillip Maiden, MD, Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In addition, we are a TRICARE provider for inpatient and partial hospitalization services. Local lodging accommodations are available for military families at the Youngstown Air Reserve Base, which is located 10 miles from the hospital.
